Digital Safety Beacon

Enabling TKE service technicians to ensure they are always looked after

One of the open truths about a service technician’s job is that it’s not free from danger – after all, they’re dealing with great heights and heavy machinery. On top of that, it can sometimes also be quite lonely. But even while they’re out and about on their own, TKE service technicians can make sure that someone’s got their back when a special situation comes up.

Before entering an unoccupied building or taking on a troubleshooting task in an elevator shaft with difficult cell reception or risk of locking oneselve in, they can activate the Digital Safety Beacon on their TKE smartphone. It sets a notification for the 24h the dispatch center including a message and geotag to follow-up on the technician after a preset time.

If all goes well, the technician can deactivate the Beacon before the timer has run out. If he or she can’t be reached after the time has passed, the dispatch centre can activate the necessary safety protocols. In 99,9% of times there’s no notification sent, but in 100% of events a service technician was able to perform the task with the confidence that they’re not alone.
